ESCP Europe teaches family-run electrical wholesalers how to manage digitalisation
How can companies succeed in today´s volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous world? How can they manage digitalisation? Over 50 participants learnt this during a one-week-programme at ESCP Europe, Berlin Campus.
We live in the early days of the so-called 4th industrial revolution. Machines support humans, replace them, communicate with both other machines and humans. The world has become volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous: a VUCA world, with many new challenges for companies.
For this reason, the FEGIME Group, a union of more than 230 independent, family-run electrical wholesalers in Europe, opted for a programme about “How to Manage Digital Transformation” at ESCP Europe, customised to the needs of FEGIME and its members.
Over 50 next generation entrepreneurs from 14 countries learned about new technologies, new customer behaviour, new ways of doing business and new ways of leading. A strategy for the digital age, digital marketing, big data and digital competence were some of the topics.
Markus Bick (Professor for Business Information Systems at ESCP Europe) designed this executive programme to offer an interdisciplinary and collaborative learning experience. Based on lectures, real business challenges, academic mentoring and peer learning a conceptual grounding was provided to facilitate multiple discussions on the changing landscape of wholesale and family businesses. The participants also applied conceptual frameworks, practical tools and guidelines directly to solve various digital challenges related to FEGIME, its members, partners and customers.
With the Executive Master in Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurial Leadership and the U-School, ESCP Europe Berlin campus has particular expertise in areas such as Intra- and Entrepreneurship and Digital Innovation. ESCP Europe also offers customised programmes about these topics, tailored especially to the needs of a certain company.
