PURCHASING & SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

As the new Delegate of the ESCP Europe Alumni Purchasing and Supply Chain Management Group, I'm pleased to invite you to a first meeting, the starting point of a series of conferences on the Purchasing and Supply Chain professions. We'll be meeting on THURSDAY JUNE 12, from 7 to 10 pm, for a buffet dinner at the Dupont Café.

For a long time, Purchasing and Supply Chain functions were considered as "support functions" whose main objectives were to generate purchasing gains and optimize costs. In recent years, these functions have undergone significant professionalization, and the levers for improving performance are multiplying (e.g. pooling, optimizing processes, standardizing requirements, reducing the supplier panel, etc.). Supply Chain and Purchasing are now integrated into the company's value-creation process, through risk reduction, the contribution of external innovations or the optimization of the TCO (total cost of ownership) of company assets.

To discuss these fascinating topics, we are delighted to welcome :

- Patrice COINTE, Supply Chain Group Director - Groupe France Telecom - Orange
Benoit and Patrice have kindly invited us to come and give us a simple, transparent presentation of their current key issues. What challenges are they facing today? How can they position their functions as "Financial & Business Partners" to General Management and the Finance Department, and not just as cost-cutting functions?

This event will provide an opportunity to exchange views on our respective experiences, as well as to gather your ideas and feedback on future events and the animation of the group.
