Good afternoon, everyone,

The Art & Entreprise group invites you to join us for a guided tour of the recently reopened Musée Paul Landowski au MA-30 / Musée des années trente, hosted by Anne Landowski-Chiffert, the sculptor's granddaughter.

Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 3:30pm
(please arrive 15 minutes early)

Musée Paul Landowski - Espace Landowski
28 Avenue André Morizet
92100 BOULOGNE BILLANCOURT near the Town Hall

Paul Landowski was an artist of the first part of the 20th century (1875-1961), who won the Grand Prix de Rome in 1900 for his David combattant. A resident of the Villa Médicis, he left the Eternal City in 1906 for Boulogne. This town on the outskirts of Paris, with 120,000 inhabitants to date, already had an aura of creativity in all sectors. In aviation and automobiles, of course, but the city was also the birthplace of cinema, and in 1886 Bartholdi designed the Statue of Liberty, later to be erected in New York.

Paul Landowski is world-famous for his major work: the Christ of Corcovado in Rio (1924-1931) and also for the monument to Sun Yat Sen in Nanjing.
In France, we come across his work every day, especially in Paris, where he produced 30 pieces, including the statue of Saint Geneviève, "les fils de Caïn" in the Tuileries, "les artistes dont le nom s'est perdu" at the Panthéon and the Fontaines de la Porte de Saint Cloud. He continued his career in this city, which he had adopted as his own, with an important creative framework (Architecture Mallet Stevens, Le Corbusier, Ferdinand Pouillon - Painting Tamara de Lempicka, Juan Gris).

The Art & Entreprise group invites you to visit Paul Landowski's museum and discover the various aspects of his work, his flagship works, small statuary and his project for the Temple of Man in Boulogne Billancourt, where the Seine Musicale has just opened.

We look forward to seeing you there,

Your Art & Entreprise delegates,
Sylviane Ricart (87) and Gérard Rouzade (68)
