Our guest speaker will be Bernard MATHIEU, from CNES, who was responsible for both the technical and institutional aspects of the EGNOS and Galileo programs, and is therefore ideally placed to talk about the role of France and Europe in these high-stakes economic and political programs.

As traditionally, this conference will be followed by a cocktail reception.

Bernard Mathieu "in short
With a dual background in aeronautics and telecommunications engineering, Bernard Mathieu has now spent over 35 years working in both the public sector and industry, with a strong involvement in European and international projects and programs.
At the DGA, he launched work on the third-generation military satellite telecommunications program, SYRACUSE 3, before taking charge of telecommunications, navigation, data collection and localization programs at CNES.
In this capacity, he initiated and managed the initial architecture studies for the Galileo system, and supports these programs at ESA as French representative on the Navigation Programs Council, and at the European level as the French representative on the Navigation Programs Council.In this capacity, he initiated and steered the initial architecture studies for the Galileo system, and supports these programs with ESA as French representative on the Navigation Programs Council and with Europe as French representative on the European Commission's committees, while continuing to steer the activities and developments carried out in this field by CNES at French level.
